Aug. 3rd, 2005 07:23 pmtrades and free agents are flying all over the place!
Boston Bruins - Agreed to terms with defenseman Brian Leetch, who had been with the Toronto Maple Leafs, on a one-year contract.
Columbus Blue Jackets - Signed defenseman Bryan Berard, who had been with the Chicago Blackhawks, to a two-year contract.
New York Islanders - acquired left wing Mike York and a conditional pick from the Edmonton Oilers for center Michael Peca; signed left wing Miroslav Satan, who had been with the Buffalo Sabres, to a three-year contract.
Philadelphia Flyers - Signed center Peter Forsberg, who had been with the Colorado Avalanche, to a two-year contract.
That last one shocks me. Forsberg's one of my favorite players. It will be hard seeing him play for a franchise I despise.
St. Louis traded Chris Pronger to Edmonton.
Calgary resigned Iginla to an outrageous contract. The owners are already paying too much for players, again.
