rang in the new year by watching the ball drop on times square, then quickly chaging over to tcm to watch abba:the movie.

the concert footage and what was shown of the band was worth watching. unfortunately the sub plot involving a fictional 'journalist' named ashley trynig to get an interview with the band was putrid.

my wife had the best line, said ashley should have taken a mentos then he may have had a better shot at the interview.

the band could play, talented singers and musicians. i always thought the gals had zip for stage presence, and still do. they never seemed comfortable on stage. almost forced out there by the wretchedly costumed benny and bjorn..

and geez, whiter than the osmonds.

let's see, if i watch movies in alphabetical order this year - what's next?

That U2 had a spirited performance of bad. Bono searching for women to hug in the crowd, and they were being held back by security. Wonder what they're doing now.

What more can be said about Queen's performance? Freddie owned the place. What a showman. Stunning power.

Bowie looked like he was have a good time out there. Elton and George Michael were in love. There was some foreboding about seeing Andrew Ridgley and Kiki Dee sharing a mic singing backup during Don't Let The Sun Go Down on Me. The end was near.

The Who were sad. Roger missing cues, Was that a reunion of sorts? Kenny Jones just didn't fit in. Zak Starkey's a better Moon surrogate.

Sad sad show by The Beach Boys. Seemed they just put themselves out there after not talking to each otheri n months. Brian looked more lost than usual. Poor Carl had to put up with Mike's incessant interruption and general annoyance. When Carl died, the spirit of The Beach Boys went with him.

The less said about Kenny Loggins the better.

But Queen though...wow.

Having an awesome amazon week. Pre Christmas was terrible, this is making up for it.
